Overview
Casey counsels and represents individuals and businesses in commercial litigation matters in state and federal court. She litigates complex commercial and civil actions, construction disputes, shareholder and stockholder issues, employment cases and appeals. Casey has also resolved various matters through mediation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to joining Rudolph Friedmann LLP, Casey worked for a boutique Boston law firm where she represented clients in professional liability claims and civil litigation matters. She handled uninsured cases, underinsured cases, and Chapter 93A and 176D Consumer Protection cases in which insurance companies made unfair offers of settlement or have been deceptive in their investigation and evaluation of reasonable and fair injury claims.
While in law school, Casey worked for the Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in the Capital Habeas Unit, advocating on behalf of death sentenced prisoners in post-conviction proceedings. She also defended victims of commercial sexual exploitation at a local institute and for a district attorney’s office. Casey served as copy editor of Criminal Law & Philosophy, a multidisciplinary, international law journal. She also helped launch a curriculum to prepare non-lawyers to represent immigrants in proceedings before the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
